1978 I Graduated with a B.A. in Music Therapy at the the University of Oshkosh in Wisconsin.
My degree has an emphasis on using the therapeutic nature of music in a way to ease those dealing with a variety of mental and physical disabilities. Included in my education was a comprehensive study of music theory and as well as proficiency using a variety of instruments. Upon completion of my degree I was accepted as an intern in a prestiges mental hospital. In 1995 I took a position as a music teacher at a christian school. I taught students ranging from Kindergarten all the way to HighSchool age. My curriculum focused on rhythm, note reading, and group performances.
In 1998 I began teaching music privately. Since then I have had the pleasure of teaching more then 200 students the fundamentals and joy of music. Each student has had their own unique way of learning and I have discovered more then 200 ways to teach. I believe in an individualized teaching style that included personalized teaching materials for each student.
I am able to teach a variety of instruments up to proficiency.

My areas of expertise lie with:
- piano/keyboard
- music theory at a college level
- Guitar
My passion lies with teaching those that many find unteachable.
I have taught students diagnosed with: cerebral palsy, autism, deafness, blindness,
and most every other form of physical or mental disability.
As you will note in the attached reviews, most of these so called "unteachable" students rose to a degree of musical proficiency that most thought would not be possible.
